MYSTERY MIX 2
Head Gardener's mix
This mix was postponed until May as I was
really poorly the night it was due for broadcast,
sorry.
My mix tonight was recorded especially for
Listening back to it was like hearing the show from
10 years ago, as most of the tunes were from the 90's.
If you ever tuned in back then prepare for a trip down
memory lane but if not it'll all sound fresh, result!
This was one crrrazy chopped up mix which took
in 40 tracks and mashed them up with the sole
intention of turning your brain inside out!
Featuring tracks from Strange Brew, Laidback Luke
and Ladytron, the mysterious Rentboy called it a
'Quic-kuts-mixx', the musical lobotomy started at 10pm.
Tonight a new, young singer/songwriter named
Heyzelda or Hazel to her mum, wandered up my
Garden path for an exclusive acoustic session.
I mixed up suitable tunes around her lovely
songs like garlands of flowers and all
in time for the summer, ahhhh.

His first session for the show was recorded underwater but this time he came up for air
with a session of field recordings.
I enjoyed mucking about with his tracks
and seeing what came out the other end!
The mix tonight came from the late, great frontman
with The Cramps himself. He would no doubt have
loved the idea of broadcasting from beyond the grave,
however this mix was from a set he recorded for an
LA radio station back in '84. I also played some
of my own favourite Garage/Punk tunes too.
Tonight I digged into the archives of the
Type Records label and mixed up a selection of my
favourite tracks. From the minimal compositions of
Sylvain Chauveau to the soundscapes of Deaf Center,
there was plenty of scope for me to experiment
with layering sound on sounds.
Tariq Hussain has been a regular contributor to
the show for many years and tonight he played
along to my choice of old Frank Zappa records.
In my opinion, he is the finest guitarist in
Milton Keynes, and you can hear him strut his
Strat in the mix below - all live & unrehearsed.
