JULY 4th : THE KILLS : session
Mean and moody duo The Kills swaggered up The Garden path
to play an exclusive set of their own peculiar brand of scuzzy rock.
Their recent album 'Keep On Your Mean Side' was highly
praised for its dirty Blues groove and this evening was a good
opportunity to catch them at their leanest and no doubt meanest.
JULY 11th : FLACK : acoustic session
Flack are a fine young local band in Milton Keynes and they entertained us tonight with their first ever radio session.
They played 3 tracks from their recent album 'It's In Your Head'
as well as a cover of an excellent old Gram Parsons tune.
Be sure to check out their website too and look out in 2004
for some crackin' live dates here : Flack
JULY 18th : RADIOHEAD : interview & mix
Tonight’s show featured a BIG scoop for The Garden as I was
in conversation with a band which needs little introduction.
But as well as talking about their recent ‘Hail To The Thief’ album
I dug into my crates and dusted off various B sides, live cuts,
rare mixes and also mixed up my favourite album tracks with the
usual Head Gardener cheekiness !
JULY 25th : FAT CAT RECORDS : mix
An extra special mix bonanza this evening as I had TWO mixes
for your listening pleasure. First up was a fine electronica mix
especially for the show by Fat Cat records main man Dave Howell
and the other was by my good self.
Treats from Ultra Red ~ Christoph De Babalon ~ Mum and MK resident
Duplo Remote along with plenty of rarely heard 12” gems from the
Fat Cat archives, aural pleasure from start to finish.

JUNE 6th : TRUBY TRIO : exclusive Mix
Kicking off the summer season in style I welcomed into
The Garden fine Compost recording artists TRUBY TRIO.
Band main man, Rainer Truby entertained us with a damn
fine funky mix featuring Bakura, Sergio Mendes as well as
sounds from their new TRIPLE LP out now titled Elevator Music.
JUNE 13th : DEPTH CHARGE : exclusive mix
J. Saul Kane, better known as Depth Charge mixed up a
superb DUB and REGGAE selection for this evening's show.
His alter ego OCTAGON MAN also released another stunning
album on his own DC label this month and this mix is a good
opportunity to catch yet another side to the man.
JUNE 20th : KELLY JOE PHELPS : acoustic session
Blues guitarist supreme Kelly Joe Phelps played live at
The Stables in MK this month and I was proud to have
secured an exclusive set in The Garden from the man himself.
He is currently on a worldwide tour promoting his new album
on Ryko titled Slingshot Professionals and he performed tracks
from it as well as some old favourites on this special evening.

The UK bands will be featured in August but in association
with fine PUNK website TRAKMARX I featured the US

13th FLOOR ELEVATORS to RAMONES and THE DEAD BOYS.
