30th : Si.COMM mix
Tonight's mix was performed by Northampton based
composer Baz Nichols perhaps better known as Si.COMM.
He is reknowned for creating disturbing, strange and yet
beautiful sound pictures- "I see myself not as a composer, but as a facilitator - someone who guides and coaxes
sounds together to form something compelling, with its
own life and energy".
Broadcast from 10pm, this was an excellent & exclusive
mix from the founder member of ECM:323, remember also
to check out his website for tracklisting and info : Si.COMM
9th : ORBITAL mix
For this evening I handed the mixing reins
to our very own mixmaster Mr. Melvin Pickles
who spinned up a storm in tribute to the recently
demised techno wizards Orbital.
The shy and retiring Mr Pickles, pictured here
came out from behind The Back Of The Bucket
{Thursdays from 10pm on CRMK} to present this
one off special of Orbital tunes and fishy madness!
16th : SIXTOO re-mixed
Following the recent release of his album for Ninja Tune
titled 'Chewing On Glass & Other Miracle Cures' I was
chuffed to bits to be able to bring you this exclusive re-mix
of the album by P-Love. Sixtoo is co-conspiritor of Buck 65
and has been producing fine Hip Hop for a variety of labels
since the mid 90's. Tonight's mix tho was fairly short but
nonetheless very sweet and P-Love's re-mix took Sixtoo's
album into a weirder and even more twisted dimension.
23rd : Mr. HOPKINSON mix
As one half of Bristol based electronica-loving duo Stoloff & Hopkinson,
Mr. H has been making strange noises and creating bizarre movies
since 1996. Tonight he entertained us with a mix of some of his favourite
tunes including several choice S&H tracks which included his own unique
White Stripes pastiche 'Seven Inch Army' and other glorious pleasures.
The fine S&H website is home to all manner of audio and visual delights
and is open now for your personal perusal: S&H
2nd : AMON TOBIN mix
Following the success of last month's Blockhead
mix I was pleased to be able to bring you a superb
new Solid Steel mix from DJ legend Amon Tobin.
Featuring a eclectic selection of tracks from T Power,
AFX, Dizzee Rascal and several more by the mainman
himself, the mix was the first of two Ninja Tune Specials
on the show this month, and both were complimented
with a varied selection of my own choice Ninja cutz as
well as the usual sample madness!

6th : VINYLISM mix
To kick off a new monthly slot of exclusive mixes
to bring you a great selection of tunes from a fresh
and funky DJ named Vinylism.
His Manchester based club night, Yo Mama! is home
to dancefloor happy tunes of a non-mainstream funk
vibe. He has been digging for records & dj-ing for about
15 years, and has also been involved in a few popular
north west hip-hop groups. His mix tonight was the first
of two special mixes I will be broadcasting in August
which will give well deserved exposure to some great
tunes you may not have heard before but are just gonna
13th : THE ARGONAUTS in session
Tonight I welcomed a nice young band of merry men
from Hertfordshire who call themselves The Argonauts.
They entertained us with two fine self-penned numbers
as well as an exclusive cover version of a Smiths tune.
I also added my own spin on their indie groove with a
20th : LDJB mix
For the second in the Vinylforum DJ mix series I presented
an eclectic selection mixed especially for the show by the
enigmatic Scottish disc jockey LDJB.
He described his mix thus: "Stand by for the swirl of the kilt,
the squeak of the pipes, a wee dram of funk and a whole
free-range haggis stuffed with prog-tastically groovy neeps
and tatties!!" Featuring many vinyl treasures gathered from
the porridge mines of the Highlands, he mixed up tracks from

27th : SIX BY SEVEN in session
This fine Nottingham based rock band performed four
exclusive tracks on tonight's show as well as giving
us a special preview of music from their forthcoming LP
due in mid-September. Guest presenter Ian Johnson complemented their set with plenty of new tunes along
